
Sept. 15 - As General Motors approaches its 100th Anniversary tomorrow, you may find it interesting, or at least amusing, to know what the company's best-selling nameplates have been over the past 100 years.
14+ million - Chevrolet Impala
12+ million - Opel/Vauxhall Corsa

11.9 million - Oldsmobile Cutlass
6.5 million - Opel/Vauxhall Vectra
6.2 million - Chevrolet Cavalier

Since its inception in 1908, General Motors has sold more than 308 million cars and trucks in the U.S. and more than 445 million worldwide.
In the past seven years, General Motors' capital investments in the U.S. have totaled more than $31 billion (more than double Toyota's and more than triple Honda's). More than 80 percent of the parts content of General Motors vehicles sold in America originates in America (compared to 53 percent for Honda and 50 percent for Toyota).
